Policy & Advocacy
On December 3, 2024 the US Department of Labor announced a proposed rule to phase out certificates allowing payment of less than minimum wage to workers with disabilities.
On behalf of APSE Missouri, we wholeheartedly support the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed rule to phase out the 14(c) subminimum wage provision, which currently permits employers to pay workers with disabilities less than the federal minimum wage. As an organization that has long championed the employment rights of individuals with disabilities, we view this proposed rule as an essential step toward advancing equity, dignity, and opportunity for all workers.
We encourage you to review the proposed rule at Regulations.gov. This is open for comment until January 17th, 2025.
